For No Mere Mortal Can Resist...

BIG, HUGE props to Muzenews for throwing this video clip my way.

Are you kidding me?

THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN (this week)!

The Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines performs many numbers like this one. I don't suppose (for logistical reasons) that these gentlemen will ever go on tour, but I encourage you to check s'more of their videos.

Penal instituions in the United States should be so talented!

Why Chloe is Awesomer than Awesome...

Summer Day Camp at our local YMCA is pretty sweet. The counselors are pretty cool and my daughter gets to do a TON of stuff all summer long. They swim a LOT.

So yesterday I went to pick up my daughter around 5:00 pm at the YMCA. The kids were all running around in the gymnastic wing so I walked back to their room to retrieve Chloe's lunchbox, wet bathingsuit, and backpack. I found her cubby pretty easily because all of the kids in the room had filled out a BIO sheet, which featured each kid's name, a photograph, and a list of their favorite things.

My Name is: Suzie Jones
My Favorite color is: Green
My Favorite Song is: Jingle Bells.....(you get the idea)...

It was all pretty standard stuff... until I got to "My Favorite T.V. Show is:"

Most kids responded with "Sponge Bob" or "Naruto" or "Hannah Montana" or "Zack and Cody". Pretty standard responses for a buncha kids. Then I got to my daughter's sheet. She is a sweet little girl, really... but I had to laugh at her favorite show.

My Favorite Show is: "Man Vs. Wild"

A Flare for Celebration

Welcome back true-believers. My blog-sense was tingling so I figured I better type some. Aw where were you for the Fourth? I was right where I shoulda been!

Every year, it is the official duty of residents around Chautauqua Lake to stick a bunch of road flares in the ground at 10 pm July Fourth. It's pretty damn cool. Who knows why? I will have to check into this custom. The result it a strange spotty red ring around the lake. The light from these flares is a little creepy. I like it.

It makes you feel a little like you are in the waiting room for hell, and honestly, isn't that the truth for some of us?
